SWAY 1:6 FLOATING TOWER SCEDULED TO RE-LAUNCH EARLY APRIL
All replacement parts and re-building contracts to re-lauch the down-scaled 1:6 test model signed. Tower to resume testing early May.

NREL installs testing equipment.
National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) of Colorado, USA, is currently installing scientific wind, wave and motion measurement equipment on the Sway prototype under a collaboration agreement. This will greatly enhance the value of the Sway testing, and will provide accurate measurement to verify not only the Sway concept, but can also be used to verify computer codes for designing and analyzing such concepts.

Scientific co-operation.
Sway, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), have signed co-operation agreement to do studies to investigate the feasibility of Sway technology in the US. Washington based consultant Geir Vollseater is the coordinator of this very promising effort. Roger Aines (LLNL) and Geir Vollsaeter also attended the Sway opening.

Minister of Trade and Industry opened the Sway prototype 10th of June.
The Minister of Trade and Industry opened the Sway prototype 10th of June. CEO of Innovation Norway, Gunn Ovesen christened the floating turbine Sway I. Around 100 guests from Sweden, US, Spain, Japan, Germany and Norway attended the grand opening. Minister Giske started the testing, that will last for 1-2 years.

Sway AS is ISO certified
01.04.11, Sway AS was awarded the ISO Certificate by Teknologisk Institutt. The Certificate is conform with the Management System Requirements of NS-EN ISO 9001: 2008

Sway successfully deployed prototype.
March 31.2011, Sway deployed the floating wind turbine prototype outside the coast of Norway. Initial testing is ongoing, and transport to site and test program will start Q2 2011.

Assembly of the prototype has started
Assembly of the Sway floating prototype is now ongoing at Coast Center Base. Deployment is planned soon, to be followed by test program. The anchor is already installed.
