SWAY has established relationships with several leading industrial and technological companies to support the development of the SWAY system. The project is also supported financially by the Norwegian Research Council.  

  Statoil is an integrated technology-based international energy company primarily focused on upstream oil and gas operations. Statoil is the world's largest operator in waters more than 100 metres deep.
     
  Statkraft is the third largest producer of power in the Nordic region, as well as the second largest producer of power based on renewable energy sources in Europe.
     
  Shell Technology Norway (STN) is a subsidiary of A/S Norske Shell designated to develop technology where Norwegian industry and Norwegian business has leading positions.
     
  Lyse is a provider of energy and communication products and is owned by 16 communes in South Rogaland, Norway. Lyse also builds and operates energy and communication infrastructure.
     
  The Research Council of Norway has the mandate to promote and support basic and applied research in all areas of science, technology, medicine and the humanities.The Research Council of Norway has an annual budget of more than NOK 5 billion and plays a central role in Norwegian research.
     
  Inocean's core business is naval engineering and design of floating oil rigs and offshore vessels.
